Training Module on POSH Act, 2013 for ULBs

This training module, based on the IIHS Trainers Guide for Internal Committees (PoSH Act, 2013), builds the capacity of Urban Local Body (ULB) members to recognise, prevent, and address workplace sexual harassment through participatory learning methods. It contextualises gender, intersectionality, and patriarchy, offering practical tools, case studies, and legal clarifications to support sensitive and effective redressal mechanisms within institutions.

  • Structured into four sessions covering gender concepts, identification of harassment, Internal Committee (IC) roles, and case-based learning
  • Use of participatory exercises such as the “Power Walk” to explore intersectionality, privilege, and power dynamics
  • Explanation of the PoSH Act (2013) provisions including IC constitution, complaint procedures, and inquiry processes
  • Integration of caste and gender-based harassment cases to highlight intersectional vulnerabilities and strengthen redressal mechanisms
